Notice: Unable to access Plugin Folder

If you open your Spectrasonics instrument and see a popup message that looks like the “Notice” below, then follow the steps in this article:

Unable to access plugin folder is an error that means your STEAM folder has not been fully installed or is missing entirely. Typically, this notice shows up the very first time you open your instrument on a computer before authorizing. 

Often times this happens when only the software updates were installed for the instrument or the wrong installers were used.

The best way to resolve this error is by quitting out of your instrument (before attempting to authorize) and reinstalling it using your installation media. Your installation media could be the USB installer or an installation folder that was downloaded using the Download Manager.
