If you are unable to choose an alternative location for the STEAM/SAGE library folder at the Preparation stage of the installation for your instrument, there is likely a pre-existing STEAM/SAGE folder or alias at the default location.
Note: The Destination Select stage that comes earlier is instead referencing the small software files for the instrument, which will almost always be installed to your system drive.
The most common causes of existing STEAM/SAGE folders or aliases/shortcuts are previous installation attempts and/or having already installed other Spectrasonics instruments.
For context, Omnisphere, Keyscape, and Trilian must be installed to the same STEAM folder, while Stylus RMX Xpanded is the only instrument that uses the SAGE folder.
If you have purchased a new instrument and want to move your STEAM/SAGE folder to make more space, please exit the installer and move the STEAM/SAGE folder by following the instructions in the article below before attempting to install your new instrument:
How Do I Move the STEAM or SAGE Folder?
If you don't have any pre-existing installations and are attempting a new factory installation, then please navigate the default location below, remove the STEAM folder or alias you find there and reattempt the installation.
Macintosh HD/ Users/ / Library/ Application Support/ Spectrasonics
Note: This Library folder is hidden by default. To locate it, open Finder, click the "Go" menu in the top menu bar and hold the Option key. "Library" will appear in the “Go" menu as long the Option key is held. Click "Library" to continue to "Application Support" and then "Spectrasonics".
