Previews “Stylus RMX”
Realtime Groove Module
NAMM — Anaheim, CA January 15, 2004 —Spectrasonics
gave an exciting sneak preview to NAMM show attendees of their upcoming
Stylus RMX™ Realtime
Groove Module, a brand new virtual instrument to be released
later this year, which vastly expands on the company’s best
selling Stylus virtual instrument. The Stylus RMX plug-in is being
developed by Spectrasonics’ new in-house software development
team, and is the first product to use the company’s powerful
new S.A.G.E.™ (Spectrasonics Advanced
Groove Engine) technology. Stylus RMX will have dozens of innovative
new features, a completely redesigned interface, a new core library
and a strong focus on real-time manipulation.
The new core-library in Stylus RMX will have thousands of cutting-edge
grooves and sounds that were created by Spectrasonics’ international
sound design team, and produced by Eric Persing. The Stylus RMX
core library will contain more than double the amount of sounds
originally offered in Stylus, and contains all the original material
as well. The new sounds and grooves in Stylus RMX substantially
broaden the musical range of the original Stylus sounds to many
new genres. Mixes are frequently broken down into individual tracks
for flexibility and infinite combinations. Also new in Stylus RMX
are hundreds of kits, as well as user kit construction. Users can
create their own customized groove libraries, save them into the
plug-in, and even share them with other Stylus RMX users on different
platforms and hosts.
“With Stylus RMX, we’re finally realizing many of our
dreams that started with Groove
Control®. It’s the first product being built around
our S.A.G.E. technology,” said Eric Persing, Spectrasonics’
Founder and Creative Director. “Stylus RMX is incredibly powerful,
easier to use, and more inspiring than ever before.”
The release date for Stylus RMX is set for October 25th, 2004. The
US suggested retail price will be $299, while the European price
is set at 249 Euros.
An upgrade program for
existing Stylus users will also be part of Spectrasonics launch
of Stylus RMX. The upgrade policy will be the same in all regions
of the International market and will be offered directly through
Spectrasonics. Current registered Stylus users will be able to upgrade
to Stylus RMX for $99. New Stylus users who registered Stylus for
the first time after January 1st, 2004, are automatically eligible
for a FREE upgrade from Stylus to Stylus RMX. All registered Stylus users
will be notified directly via email when the upgrade is available on October 25th.
Stylus RMX will operate as a native plug-in instrument in hosts
