John Keane Composing CSI with Spectrasonics

article-csi.jpg

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is one of the top shows on television and the soundtrack is always an integral part of the experience. John M. Keane is the genius behind the sound of CSI and one of Spectrasonics original customers (from way back in ‘94) - so you can hear our instruments regularly in the show.

Keane told us: “In writing the music for CSI there are always many challenges. Time is always in short supply. I look to Spectrasonics instruments and sound libraries to give me what I’m looking for quickly, with the ability to create and manipulate sounds on the fly. Trilogy and Stylus RMX are tools I use all the time. Their ease of use and quality make them indispensable. I’m looking forward to future innovations from Spectrasonics!”

As a composer and musician he writes music for film and TV, and also has solo albums released including “Any Other World” (1996) and “Straight Away” (1999).

Keane had worked with CSI producers, before the TV show, writing title themes for the feature films “Hard Promises”, and TNT’s “Keep The Change”. His other television credits include the main title theme for “The Amazing Race” (CBS), and music for “Martial Law” (CBS) and “The Sentinel” (CBS/UPN) among others.
