Talledega Nights - Spectrasonics goes NASCAR?

Longtime Spectrasonics user Alex Wurman used our Virtual Instruments to create his score for the blockbuster hit Will Ferrell movie “Talledega Nights”.

Alex explains his process, “I use all three Spectrasonics instruments while I compose my scores. After the live musicians record all their parts, a lot of original Spectrasonics tracks remain in the final soundtrack mix. Using a blend with the live musicians is quite cool. And Eric has recorded his stuff in such a way that they go together perfectly. Trilogy sounds so good, and the bass parts I write are sometimes better coming from the keyboard perspective.”

Alex continued, “I recently upgraded to Stylus RMX and it’s incredible! The 8-channels, the excellent sounding integrated effects and the MIDI file drag & drop integration with Logic makes it so easy to use. That is necessary when chasing the inspiration… and the deadline. Also, the Chaos tool and I get along quite nicely! Stylus RMX is probably the most composer-friendly music software I’ve ever used. It’s just designed so well! I’ve used Spectrasonics instruments at some stage of the writing process on every movie I have scored since the instruments were released, including “Anchorman”, “March of the Penguins”, and many others.”
