So how does the multi-talented Chris Vrenna simultaneously score popular video games like “Doom 3″ and “Area 51″, create radio-ready Remixes, AND have a successful solo career as “Tweaker” - all while playing drums on the road with Marilyn Manson?
“It’s the coolest thing to have my Spectrasonics instruments in the studio and on the road! After a show, I’d work on my remix for “The Nobodies” in my hotel room and then bring it to Manson’s room for him to check out. Based on his feedback, I’d go tweak the remix using Stylus RMX and Atmosphere to augment it.
During the tour, I also had to continue composing for the Area 51 game and having my same Spectrasonics tools on my PowerBook really helped. I used Trilogy and Atmosphere heavily on the very ambient game score…the synth basses and atmospheric textures were perfect!”
