We were thrilled to learn that Keyboard legend Lyle Mays is using Atmosphere on the The Pat Metheny Group world tour. The band is performing their ‘The Way Up’ album that he co-wrote with Metheny. Remarkably, the band plays the entire 68-minute composition from “intro-to-coda” without stopping! Lyle is using Atmosphere live in the main composition and during several of the other classic PMG tunes that follow ‘The Way Up.’
Lyle says: “This is the hardest stuff we’ve ever tried to do live, but I’m not complaining. The rig that Bob Rice put together for us is performing beautifully…. I was able to recreate some of my old Prophet and JX sounds using Atmosphere within a couple of days so hat’s off to all who had a hand in the interface - and the pad sounds are just fantastic, the best I’ve ever heard out of any soft synth.” During the concert those familiar with some classic Lyle solo sounds might be surprised to know that on this tour, they’re hearing Atmosphere! Bravo!
