Sample libraries are often no more than a convenient way to access loads of sounds so that lazy programmers don't have to search for their own. Hans Zimmer Guitars, however, goes further than most to provide an extremely useful resource.

This disc attempts to offer just about every type of guitar strum, pluck, power chord and harmonic you'll need, and the loops help to add that live feel. The descriptions are a little vague at times, and some of the Audio CD tracks could have been shorter to speed up access, but there's no doubting how useful most people will find the notes and riffs. Obviously it's not going to replace the performance of a real guitarist, but those making electronic music will find no better way of programming guitar lines than by using this disc.
