Nothing short of a revolution
Spectrasonics and ILIO are proud to introduce Groove Control, a revolutionary new way of working with sampled loops, that opens up creative possibilities that you've only dreamed about.
Groove Control is an exclusive method of creating sample libraries using special technology developed by Spectrasonics and ILIO Entertainments. Groove Control activated sample libraries allow you to have independent control over the tempo of live, STEREO sampled loops, without affecting pitch. What's more, it gives you this control with your existing sampler and sequencer. There's no need to buy any special software or hardware.
If you've ever worked with sampled grooves, you know that the ability to change tempo independently of pitch is definitely a dream come true. But Groove Control is much more than just tempo shifting.
Feel
Using your existing sampler and sequencer, you can easily adjust the feel of a sampled groove, as well as the tempo. For instance, you can instantly change a straight backbeat into a funky shuffle. If the drummer was a little too laid back for you, simply quantize him! Or let's say your bass line is pushing too hard against the kick drum - just nudge the kicks over until they're "on the money." If only working with drummers were so easy!
Simplicity
Number 1. Find the loop you want to use.
Number 2. Load the Groove Control version of the loop into your sampler.
Number 3. Load the sequence into your sequencer.
That's it! Once you copy or drag the groove sequence into your song, the
loop is AUTOMATICALLY at the right tempo! There's no need to convert,
plug-in, dump, or transfer samples. If you use any sampler, whether it's an
Akai, Roland, Emu EOS, EXS24, HALion, Kurzweil, Unity or Gigasampler, and
you use any sequencer like Logic, Performer, Cubase, Cakewalk Sonar or even
hardware sequencers, you're ready to start grooving. Since you're already
working in the sequencer of your choice, there's no learning curve. It just
works!
Control
Since it works inside your sequencer, the grooves automatically follow your tempo changes and MIDI clock. Plus, you can tweak mix levels and drum tunings, create filter sweeps or you can stack lots of different grooves on top of each other.
Creativity
Every loop from a Groove Control activated disc can be combined with any other loop from any other Groove Control library! The creative possibilities are staggering. You can even change the rhythmic pattern and the time signature, either creating subtle adjustments to match your composition, or radical mutations of your own design. It all adds up to unprecedented control and inspiring flexibility - in real time.
Sound
Remember, you're enjoying this kind of control with true STEREO phase-locked
sampled grooves, so you never loose that sense of live energy or fidelity.
It really sounds as though the musician is taking direction from you right
there in the studio! And speaking of musicians, the first Groove Control
activated libraries feature some of the most amazing drummers and
percussionists in the world - names like Gregg Bissonette, Alex Acuña,
Bashiri Johnson, Bob Wilson, John Ferraro, Eric Boseman, and many more to
come! And with producers like Eric Persing at the helm, you'll be getting
the best sounds and programming possible.

"A revolutionary system of loop manipulation... This is an amazingly useful addition to any CD-ROM... not only allows tempo changes to be managed with consummate ease, but also the use of quantization to change the rhythms in creative ways... I tried dropping loops to 50 percent of their original speed, then doubling their original speed, and found the result to be surprisingly natural and seamless right across the range. What's more, you can take one layer of a 4/4 loop and quantize it to twelves or some other figure to create rhythmic variations or polyrhythms - no longer are you restricted by what the sample designer gives you. You can even add swing to a pattern, use only part of a pattern or even drop notes out altogether. And it's all in stereo.... frightfully clever!"

"The paradigm of current sampling CDs is about to be knocked on its head with the introduction of Groove Control from Spectrasonics. The concept is to give users easy command of a looped sample's tempo without changing pitch, and - much more than that - to offer control of the timing and feel of the samples. You simply load a sampled groove into your sampler, load the sequence into your sequencer, and you have instant ability to change the tempo, timing, shuffle, and placement of the loop. In the fairly stagnant world of sampling CDs, this is one of the biggest things to come around since the discs themselves."

"You've basically ruined my life. How can I ever go back to regular old sample CD's without Groove ControlT. It's truly elegant, friendly and
supportive of the creative process. I'm completly stoked with it."
